Last weekend was Laurie’s birthday on Saturday.

His birthday, his food choices. In the morning, I went to the village shop for fresh bread and croissants. He also made a traditional cooked breakfast, more of a brunch really. In the afternoon, I went out and bought steak and potatoes for chips. His choice of dinner and he cooked. We had a fruit tart for dessert as that was left over from Friday night, when a friend who lives alone came for the first post lockdown meal with us.

Sunday, I already felt ‘ropey’. I could feel the sugar and carbs from the tart, bread and chips sitting uncomfortably and not budging ( not good!) so I had only one thin slice of bread that day.
I also didn’t feel like exercising, but walked the dogs one of the days, but not the other as the day just ran away from us.

Monday I got up still feeling sluggish and although I didn’t do a huge amount of exercise, I ate healthily.

Today, I started the day, after two glasses of water and feeding the dogs, with a 2 mile walk with Nogi, our runner. Walking her is cardio and ST together, as I get to play tug of war as she wants to run miles across fields and it is my job to keep her roughly to the path and at the end of a ten metre lead at its maximum, without her getting to the vines and ripping them up...

That weekend could have been the beginning of the end, but I decided that, NO, I am NOT giving up.

Thank you all, SparkFriends for all the support you give me, for enabling me to turn it round before things got really slippery. I like my clothes, including my workout kit getting too big for me!
