Feeling like the Grinch - THE NOISE!
Saturday, May 30, 2020
One good thing about these COVID days being the same thing over and over (so it seems), is that when you don't get to those things you planned on today, tomorrow will be another nearly identical chance!
I got off to a good start as my errand to the bank was done first thing and then Auggie was bugging me for the routine "conference call" (rest on the sofa) so I figured we'd just be there for 10 minutes. Nope. I woke up two hours later! Oops! I then got going on my paid work emails and had trouble focusing between Isaac's frequent visits and Tim's noise. He stops his paid work about 2:30-3 on Friday's and today it meant more work on the kitchen wall and ceiling. It's now textured and painted. Can't really tell there used to be a wall there other than the sawed off cupboard shelf end. And then the real noise began. Tim had rented equipment to tear up the layers of kitchen flooring in preparation for tile.
That extremely loud noise took over our house from 5 until 11. A few breaks in between for cleaning up some of the mess and a supper break. The dining area didn't go as well and all he can figure is a different type of glue was used. He isn't sure. Glad that is finished though. Way too loud.
I did leave for a quick errand about 6 and couldn't believe what my favorite Subway looked like.
I knew they were remodeling, but I didn't realize they were leveling the place! I did find it funny that the sprinkler was running on one tiny little patch of grass.
Tomorrow Maegann will be working most of the day and Tim is going to do fencing with Wendell so Isaac and I will be "home alone". I've got some laundry to do, the dusting and sweeping and finances to update. Should be a fairly easy day and I'm staying in as it is to be our 100 degree day. Glad I'm not Tim and Wendell tomorrow out in it all day!
