Week One Down

Monday, June 08, 2020

This time last Monday, I was in the recovery room and they were getting me ready to be moved to my inpatient room. I will admit, much oft that was a blur of pain and noise. What a difference a week can make. I am now comfortably set in my routine. I have minimal pain, just to the incision sites, and not so much of that overfull and bloated feeling. I have walked more this week then I have in a long time. Because I have two incisions at my natural waist, and that is were most of my bottom garments hit, I have been wearing dresses. It’s been kind of weird, walking and doing my light strength exercises in a dress, but pretty comfortable.

I have my Post-op follow up with the dietician and psychologist on Wednesday and with the surgeon on Friday. I know for sure, the first two are going to be tele-med appointments, but I must double check about the surgeon. I would think it is in person so he can look at the incisions to make sure they are healing okay. The patient coordinator who came to see me in the hospital said it was a tele-med, but she also said my last appointment with the bariatrician was tele-med, when it was supposed to be in person.

I am feeling better and stronger every day. I want to go out and start doing things, but I know I must be patient.
