I have been around the world and back again....not really but in terms of diets it sure feels that way. I swore this would be the summer, THE SUMMER when I turned it all around and I read more books and tried more things my latest adventure being a plant-based diet. I'm all about it, I get it, I understand the benefits......after weeks and weeks I have less and less energy and today I simply could not get out of bed. I have also taken myself off of coffee like, I'm in for a total overhaul but I'm also chronically anemic and I know the signs of anemia and today was a day where there was no denying that this is not going to be a fit for me. I go to bed earlier and earlier, add naps and am dizzy when I can keep my eyes open. Back to beef.

Years ago I was down almost 50 freaking pounds, I felt no deprivation, cut out no major food groups, (or drinks) and had energy to work out consistently. I also went back to school and had a couple of babies. The magic? Sparkpeople. I got impatient and thought it should be moving faster which led me to the first of many Whole 30's, Keto, WW, AIP, Intermittent fasting, Vegan and I have successfully gained back almost all of it. There is no magic in any program it has to work for the individual and their life. SP worked for me.

I now reallize that's only half of the equation, I was also awesome. Spark provided the tools but I did it. What a great thing that is to know. I'm pretty sure I gave myself no credit then so it should go great again. Tools+some self acknowledgement = gonna be great.

I hope you are back on the right track! I do wish there was a "magic" way to drop the weight--or, even worse RE-drop the weight!

Not only were you awesome when you did all you needed to and lost the weight.... right in this moment,
having done "nothing"..... you are still awesome.

Oh yes, I too rode every horse on the carousel. I’ve been reading The Four Day Win to work on changing the mental aspects of losing weight successfully. I also am getting some coaching from Beth. They are both making SP more effective and consistent.

    Glad you’re back.

You have worked hard to find your fit and lose the weight! You have not given up and have continued to be a better you. I admire all that you have accomplished (especially taking care of all your kiddos!). You have been amazing with your determination. I think this may be “your place”. Hugs!

Cheers! I agree with a balanced approach. Take something from all of those plans and create what works for your through Spark. Each of those philosophies had some good to them. Getting in plenty veggies and a couple of fruit is nutritional. Having some real meat for protein is satiating. Having an eating schedule helps if through can follow the schedule. Sometimes it takes tweaking and practice. Fat has its place in a healthy diet! Use it wisely.
Although I felt great without all sugar and flour for several months, it backfired and sent me into binge mode for as many months. Just not practical or sustainable for me. Battling my way back to balance. Listening to my body and mind along the way.

    Best wishes and Spark on!
