Life in the Summer of 2020

It has been quite a while since I posted any Blog. I must admit it isn't really my thing, but I am happy that I have been sticking with my program for over 3 1/2 years and I have lost 76 pounds and 4-5 sizes (Size 18-20 down to 10-12 & and even the occasional size 8). Sticking with this makes me very proud of myself and is self-motivating to keep it up. It is especially gratifying that I have kept control during this very stressful and yet boring era of Covid-19. I can't say I have lost much, but I haven't used this as an excuse to let my eating get out our control (well, maybe for a day tor two- lol).
My dream is to have a healthy BMI and to be at a healthy weight. I am so close to the BMI, just a pound or two will do it, but I still have 16 pounds to go to my weight goal. I can do it. No matter how long it takes, I WILL do it.
How do I do It? What works for me? I track every bite of food, I walk 2-3 miles every day, I strength train when I can push my self to do it, I cook almost all my meals rather than eating out, I have learned to love salads by being creative with them (not just a bowl of lettuce with a tomato, etc)., and I join SparkPeople Challenges. My favorite is the 5% Seasonal Challenge. I love the small groups, the camaraderie, the support, and the competition. Yes, I said competition. It pushes me to do more and since I became one of the leaders of the group, I find that I want to show others it is possible to succeed. Success might be slow, go backward from time to time, be frustrating, or boring, but it is still something you can WIN. A healthy weight IS possible.
