Saturday, July 11, 2020

I have been invited and I accepted going to a restaurant with 9 other elderly people on this coming Tuesday.

tables will be six feet apart but NOT at the tables. it is regular seating.
Everyone will wear masks of course as it is mandatory.
lowered masks when eating.
i am just nervous sitting with others THAT close...

any advice. ???
like do I take a bite and put my mask back on, repeat, etc???
Please advise.

thank you sincerely

I’d prefer eating outside too, that’s what we’ve done. Mask on for moving about. Lots of hand washing and sanitising.

You don't know these people, don't know who they've been in contact with, if they might even be asymptomatic carriers of the virus. The virus can be carried 8 feet. I wouldn't do it. Wait for the vaccine.

I won’t take the chance even outside. We had four restaurants close as one of the staff in each restaurant came down with COVID. Then it was mandatory for all restaurants to close here. I think restaurants were only open three weeks before they had to close again.

If there's an outdoor seating area you should try to get put there! The risk of getting COVID outdoors is much lower, even if some people aren't wearing masks. But I agree, taking your food to go and leaving your mask up is safest!

FNIGHT has the exact suggestion I thought of! You keep your mask on, socialize and take your food home to eat safely.

    Good luck!!!

You could order your meal to go and just socialize with your mask on if that makes you less anxious.
