Freedom from Sin. Psalm 25 :18. August 04 2020.

“Look on my affliction, and my pain, And forgive all my sins.”
Psalm 25:18

Have you ever held sin in your heart so much that people could see pain in your face? We try to mask the darkness below the surface but it just cannot be hidden. Often we confess that our hope is in Christ Jesus, but we feel so hopeless. We do not know what to do. It is at times like these that we have to remember that God wants to break the bondage of sin and shame that is within us. He wants to take it all away.

When we realize this fact, we need to make the first step in our recovery. We have to go to Him and ask Him to free us from the sin that has gotten ahold of our lives. This may seem hard and even something we fear because we really do not understand the heart of God. He does not punish us, instead He opens up His hands in love, and He takes us back into His arms. He does this every time that we come to Him and confess. It matters not what the sin is, or even how many times you have already confessed this sin to Him. His grace and forgiveness runs deep. He desires to cleanse us, and to change us. He wants us to be free from sin.

The change may not always be right away. Consequences for our sin may occur. However as we commit to turn to Him during our moments of temptations, and yes even our failures, God our Heavenly Father will begin to bring freedom into our lives. The sin that holds us so tightly will begin to wash away as waves of forgiveness from Him wash over us.

That is why Jesus came to this earth. He came to take the sins of the world upon Himself on the cross so that we can have eternal fellowship with our God. All He wants is for us to confess and lay our sins in front of Him. We are washed and forgiven by the blood of the Lamb. He says. “ Go and sin no more.”

🙏 Father, all we need to do when we sin is to come before you and confess. There is no sin that is so bad, that can separate us from Your love.
You tell us to repent and believe. Thank you for the gift of eternal life given to us by Your Son Jesus Christ. It is in His name that I pray.
