The Plan for Today: Bike Ride and Some Rest

Monday, August 17, 2020

Monday is my one day off each week, and normally I like to be completely lazy and do nothing - over time, that's what's best for me.

But given the realities of our schedule this week, it's best for me to get my Tuesday bike ride in today, so I get to go to an amazing park northwest of Minneapolis called Elm Creek Park and put in about 20 miles working on my climbing technique. After that, I'll probably ride around a bit more as it's a beautiful day and the park isn't too far from the Mississippi River, but eventually I'll end up where I belong on Mondays...laying down somewhere and doing a bunch of nothing!

Looking forward to the day, hope you have a great one!

Hey, SPEEDYDOG, the outer loop of Elm Creek is a little over 600 feet of climbing in 14.5 miles and the loops I took this day were a little over 900 feet of climbing in 20 miles. So, not much, but better than pan flat!

I took a look at Elm Creek Park. The scenery and the trail looks great. The description I found of Elm Creek Park was "rolling hills". How much vertical do you climb at Elm Creek Park?

I live in Colorado. Every ride is uphill both ways. However, my bikes have very low granny gears to allow me to make steep ascents where there is precious little oxygen.

I like reading about your cycling adventures. Keep the rubber side down!
