Clean Water. 2 Corinthians11:1-15. August 27 2020
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, says the Lord. And touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”
2 Corinthians 6:17
Have you ever taken two glasses and filled one with clean water and the other with dirty water? If you pour some of the clean water into the dirty water, it will not miraculously turn clean. The only way to get the second glass clean is to pour out the dirty water, clean the cup, and then fill it with clean water.
Life is much like a glass of water. If we allow dirty water in our lives it will simply make us dirty. We must allow only clean things, good things and noble things to enter our lives. We must flee from the impure and sinful things.
The same goes with our churches and the people we allow to preach from our pulpits. Even if the message is the gospel and the songs are familiar hymns we must still be like the Bereans and check to make sure the message is according to Scriptures. There are many false prophets all around us and we must be vigilant in defending the truth of the Word. Remember a little leaven can destroy the entire loaf. A child of God needs to recognize behaviour that is out of Go’s order, and contrary to the teaching of Scripture.
Many churches are being deceived and are being led astray by false prophets. They may be held in high esteem by men, but they are just like dirty glasses of water posing as clean glasses of water. To remain clean we must stay true to Scripture and only desire the pure milk of the Word.
