I like to move it, move it

This week, I smiled while exercising. Breathing heavy, modifying most of the movements, feeling the rhythm of the music.
I wasn’t “ashamed” of modifying or embarrassed if I had to take a break. I did what felt best for me. I honored my body in that moment. I felt, amazing and I genuinely enjoyed myself. I ended class, looking forward to the next time I get to go back.
I quietly asked myself, without judgement, when was the last time you felt that way from “exercise”? I had realized, it’s been a while.
My life revolved around exercise as a punishment for food I ate, the number on the scale, or the size of my pants. I forgot how good a rush of endorphins feel.
I forgot how good it can feel to move. Movement that isn’t punishment. Movement that isn’t drives by the need for smaller thighs, or toned arms. Movement simply for the sake of the joy it brings me.
What is your favorite way to move?
