I had my 3-month post-op appointment yesterday. I seem to be progressing well, all my labs are within normal limits and I have lost 50% of my excess weight. My highest recorded weight was 218, and I am now down to 158. I haven’t been less than 160 since before my second pregnancy (1992). I am also allowed to advance my diet. I can now eat fresh veggies, soft brains and bread. I have to take it slow, but I am really happy about the veggies. I used to have fresh peppers, tomatoes, or cucumbers with my morning eggs and meal salads at least twice a week. They were my go-to when eating on the run.

I did manage to hyper extend my knee, again. It was doing much better as the weight came off, so I am bummed that I am having pain. Also, my knee brace no longer fits properly, so I have to get a new one. I have a Tele-med appointment with orthopedics on Friday, so I am hoping to get a “prescription” for a new one so I can use my FSA to pay for it. I have to get on that is hypo-allergenic, and they cost a pretty penny.

I am starting to really need new clothes. I found some cropped jeans at Sam’s club on super clearance for $2.91, so I bought two pairs. Most of my pants are loose enough that I NEED a belt, and I can pull them on and off without unbuttoning them. Some of my work out leggings are baggy and won’t stay in place, and all my t-shirts are baggy.

I am still participating in the BLC Autumn Challenge. It starts tomorrow, and I am really looking forward to it.
