Trust in God. Hebrews 13:7-9. September 05 2020.
‘Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.” Hebrews 13:9
Is your life anchored in Christ? When the storms of life strike are you ready? We must always start with God’s Word. Warren Wiersbe said, “ The purpose of spiritual ministry is to establish God’s people in grace, so that they will not be blown around by dangerous doctrines. Some people who read Hebrews were trying to make people go back to the dietary laws of the Old Testament. However our key verse in Hebrews 13:9 warns that that will not profit them.”
We too today must be aware of changing our doctrine or emphasis in our churches. We do this at times to accommodate the thinking of the day. This is very dangerous. We must never go beyond what the Bible teaches. We need more teaching on doctrines today in our churches. That will help to strengthen and grow the church.
Finding our foundation in God’s Word is crucial to conquering the storms of life. Nothing prepares us more for life’s journey than having a deep knowledge of what God’s Word says. We must stay anchored in His truth. “Trust and Obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.”
