Power. Hebrews 4:1-13. September 07 2020.
When we were young boys we liked to compare our muscles against other boys. We would wrestle to see who was the strongest. Now as men we like to compare our cars and trucks to see who has the most powerful ones. Men like power and power impresses us . Think about the atomic bomb, which can destroy entire cities in a matter of seconds. All this power and yet it is not even half the power of the Word of God.
No matter what we create, not even the greatest machine in history can change the heart of man. But when we apply God’s Word in our lives it will change our inner being. It makes us whole and softens our hearts.
Through the Word we realize that we have sin and Christ can cleanse us from our sins. The Word can change an alcoholic or a drug addict. The Word can change our sinful habits. It can make us live holy and righteous lives. That is the power of the Word of God.
When we allow that power to be applied to our lives we will definitely see a difference in our lives. God’s Word is everlasting and will be continued to be used to change our lives and make us powerful. We need to saturate our lives with His Word.
“His Word is a light unto my feet and a lamp unto my path.”
