I got back from Detroit last night about 9:30. I am glad I am home. I had a good time with my family. It worked well that my sister's memorial service was first on Friday and my niece's wedding was Saturday night. We had the low before the high; we needed the high more than we realized.
I usually don't cry at weddings. Maybe it was because of my sister, but this one was so easy to cry at. My niece's new husband didn't make it through the wedding. He looked at her and the tears started. One of my other nieces said, "I want someone to look at me how he looks at her."
There's always some family drama, but it's so good to share the lows and the highs.
