I picked up my MRI results today. Haven't spoken to the doctor yet, but that won't happen until I get the whole-body MRI done, and that probably won't be for some time, since it is going to be a huge and expensive hassle to get it done.
In any case, the good news is that there is no sign of cancer, either primary, or metastatic. However! There is a benign tumor called a meningioma. I don't know a lot about them, except that they are common in survivors of brain cancer (which I am not). They are also common in middle-aged women (which I am). They can sometimes cause trouble, but are often just watched until they do.
There is another issue that concerns me. There are signs of "chronic ischemic small vessel white matter signal changes." The possible causes are vasculitis and demyelinating disease. Neither of those is a good thing. In fact, both are quite scary. But still better than cancer.
