Double nickel temps today, a bit breezy and very rainy... All in all a perfect October day!!

Pot of chili made and 1st bowl eaten for breakfast. Fuzzy blankets at the ready and new batteries in the electric fireplace remote, lol.

Already stepped outside to sing the water song and soak in the atmosphere.

Watching the already pudgy squirrels frantically burying nuts - one in particular has more than one in its mouth, digs a HUGE hole, so deep that he's almost shoulder deep! Drops the nut(s) in the hole and buries, pats, and smooths over and over, then looks around - my guess is to make sure no one is watching, lol.

Love watching but clearly NOT a good sign. Then again, if I'm home for the rest of the year what do I care?

Hunkering down a tad early this year for the first time in a few years.

OK by me but since I've lived in Wisconsin all my life, I know it could be in the 90s one day next week and snowing the following week and... and... and...

Lather, rinse, repeat through November AND it IS 202, after all... ANYthing can happen!!!

I could not eat chili on a hot day. I make chili when weather is cold.

Yes, the squirrels are particularly efficient gathering and burying their food this Fall. Hmmmm . . . may be a long winter.
