Pruning. John 15:5-8. Sept 17 2020.
“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”
Have you ever thought that Go is removing things from your life? Has circumstances made it necessary to reduce what is important to you? Do you feel as if you can only do the minimum that is needed to continue on?
In his book Streams in the Desert, L.B.Coleman writes a simple poem that ask the question, “Why must this lot in life be mine?” The answer is, “Because God knows what plans for me shall blossom in eternity.”
God knows everything about us. He knows what opportunities awaits us. He is preparing us to shine for Him. But, first He must remove all that is unnecessary. In the verse above He states, “ Every branch that bears fruit ,He prunes so that it bears more fruit.” Just because we have trials it does not mean that God has abandoned us. More than likely He is moulding us for something bigger or greater.
Each one of us has a place of service that is suited uniquely for us in His Kingdom. He must first develop our trust in Him. When we fully trust Him we will see a great harvest. Experience the joy of having the Lord work through us. Ask God to prune the branches and to work through you.
