I went to the sports medicine doctor yesterday and he had me lay on the table and do all sorts of different stretches to see how my hip and hamstring mobility is. He said I was a little tight in the hips and hamstrings. I said I have been that way all my life. I explained I work out on a regular basis and stretch well after. I told him I was training for a race with my son. After he checked me all out he determined that it was a hamstring or a hip strain. He wanted me to do physical therapy. I told him if there were exercises I could do at home I would rather try that. So he gave me exercises to strengthen my hamstrings and stretch out my hip flexors. However, all though I am trying to stay positive, these are stretches I have incorporated into my work out all the time. So we will see if just doing those stretches alone without any other activity will help. He said if it is not better in 8 weeks then we can do an MRI. I was hoping he would just send me for the MRI but I understand at least this way i can say I tried something first instead of just jumping into the MRI. I will have to say after 2 days of these exercises the back of my leg is sore but I guess that is to be expected. I will keep you updated as the weeks go along.
I hope everyone is having a great day so far! I hope your goals that you have set for yourself are coming along nicely. Until we talk again...God bless and have a great rest of your day!
