Lucy and I Make Progress

My dog may have Cushings disease, so my walks with her depend on her responses during our walk.
On Friday morning, Lucy completed the 15-minute neighborhood walk, and pulled me to the right towards the park - what used to be our favorite walk last year: 60+ minutes and friendly encounters with other dog-walkers. When we reached the halfway point, I sat on a bench to let Lucy rest. However, there were new doggies to greet, and Lucy was clearly beside herself with joy, holding her leash and dancing circles around me! We made it home with Lucy panting just a little.
Later that afternoon, I felt the reaction in my body to the longer walk. I assume that Lucy must have felt that, too. We had walked for 77 minutes Friday morning. By evening, I decided to get on the treadmill for 43 minutes to achieve a 120-minute total for the day (just as I used to do before the osteoarthritis humbled me). I was cautious, I only walked 3 mph Friday night. So far, so good.
This morning, Lucy opted for the 15-minute walk. She's no dummy!
