We have an inheritance awaiting us that eclipses anything this world has to offer (Ephesians 1:7-14)

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3).
“To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith – the salvation of your souls” (1 Peter 1:4-9).
Many of us have inherited a family keepsake at one time or another, a transfer of property or possessions from one generation to another as a reminder of the other person. One of the most precious possessions I have received from family members were the favorite cookbooks of two of my dearest aunts. These two women were the ones to prepare most of the family Holiday meals. With our daughters, I sometimes look through these cookbooks and find myself reminded of the wonderful times our family came together to celebrate special moments and the blessings of loving one another. Reading the little notes my aunts made on the various recipes provides insight to what they were thinking as they prepared these foods for their extended family.
The inheritance Jesus obtained for us opened the door to our being family, celebrating the everlasting joys of having eternity to be together. The notes He left for us within the pages of the Bible give us a glimpse of what He was thinking as He prepared His plan for our salvation. Jesus defeated death for us.
“For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands eternal in the heavens... Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:1-2, 5-8).
We have an inheritance awaiting us that eclipses anything this world has to offer (Ephesians 1:7-14). Rejoice, you are a beloved child of Almighty God. He will move heaven and earth for you! You are His dearly beloved. Jesus willingly died to pay the sin debt of all mankind.
May His love blanket your soul from the chill of rejection that the world spews at Christians.
