Who is this Jesus the Bible talks about so freely? He said that His sheep(followers) know His voice.

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand (Revelation 1:1-3 KJV).
Many years ago, as a newly born-again Christian, I attended a Bible study on the Book of Revelation. It was very difficult for me to comprehend at the time because I had no frame of reference for the examples provided within its pages. I was however, eager to know everything I could about God and His plan for my life. It is only now, as I begin to see current events take on the cloak of historical writings that I have begun to understand this part of the Scriptures.
The Bible says that the persons “who read and those that hear the words of this prophecy and keep the things written in it” are blessed. How many times within the past thirty-plus years has anyone read from the Book of Revelation in our congregations? Have you ever asked your pastor if he would read from this book during Sunday services? If not, why not?
“And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. And there shall be no night there: they need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever. Then He said to me, These words are faithful and true. And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place. Behold, I [Jesus] am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book” (Revelation 22:1-7 NKJV).
To be blessed we must either read, or be hearers of the Book of Revelation. I have heard others over the years say that they do not attempt to read this book because it is too difficult to understand. Yet this is the book that reveals Jesus Christ, redemption, and God’s ultimate plan. Jesus Christ alone has been given authority to judge the earth, make it anew, and to rule as King of kings. The Lamb’s wife is making herself ready. (Revelation 19:7)
Who is this Jesus the Bible talks about so freely? He said that His sheep (followers) know His voice. What a wonderful day it will be when Jesus comes back for those who have made themselves ready!
