Your Prayer Life. Psalm 5:1-12. October 23 2020.
‘Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to you I will pray.”
As we continue to study, we need to look at three different asks that we can include in our prayers.
1. That we may increase in knowledge of God. As we learn more about Jesus we will know more about God the Father. This will result in a greater love for Him. John 14:15 says, “if we obey His Word, we love Him because those who love Him keeps His commandments” Obey the Word of God.
2. That we may be strengthened and sustained in the power of God. We as people and collectively as a church become weakened when we try to do things in our own power. Zachariah 4:6 says “our success does not come from power or might but by God’s Holy Spirit. We need His peace and presence as well as His guidance to live victoriously.
3. That we give thanks for His salvation. It is only because of Jesus, that we can live as children of God. God chose us, His Son died for us, The Spirit guides us. We have the gift of faith. He forgave us and redeemed us. He will glorify us, but we need to be thankful, obeying Him, and live every day for Him.
When has been the last time that you asked God to increase your knowledge of Him? Our you in the Word every day. Have you asked Him to strengthen and sustain you? Do you listen to the Holy Spirits leading? Or do you do things in your own power? When did you last thank Him for your salvation? Be thankful each day.
