God’s Heart. John 3:1-18. October 28 2020.
“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved,”. John 3:17
How do we get to know a person better? As we see the actions of a person’s heart we see what the person is like. The more we see the heart of a person the better we know them. This is how we grow to love and trust people.
So how do we know the heart of God? We need to look at the cross to better understand God. At the cross we see God’s view of sin and mankind. We see His justice shining through. We know that He does the right thing , the righteous thing all the time.
So as He was dealing with mankind and our sin, he needed an eternal solution. God’s holiness stood in the way of our sins and wickedness. Because of His justice He could not simply ignore our sins. And so rather than abandoning us He provided the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He allowed His Son to pay the price for our sins.
The cross was the answer. Despite the great cost to His Son, it provided a bridge to transverse over the gulf that sin had made. Bre cause of Christ’s sacrifice we are welcomed into the arms of His presence. The debt has been paid. Justice has been served. We have been redeemed.
If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Saviour, then do so today. Your burdens will be lifted and your relationship with the Father will be restored.
