Truth in Action. 1 Samuel 31:34-51. October 29 2020.
David said, “ You come to me with a sword, with a spear and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the Gods of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” 1 Samuel 17:45.
As Christians we sometimes plunge into the unknown and that is when some measure of faith will be required. Circumstances can vary such as a new job, or an illness that sprouts up, but the fact remains we do not know how things are going to turn out.
At times like these we need to put our faith to the test. We need to trust that God will work things out for what is best for us.As he works our faith is being built. It no longer is an concept, it instead becomes truth in action.
We can have conquering faith when we allow our faith to be tested, and we see God’s faithfulness. We also will see past victories of faith won by God. David approached King Saul about fighting Goliath with great confidence. He had seen his faith built as he battled a lion and a bear. He defeated them both with the strength that came from God. Goliath was a giant and very intimidating but David knew where his strength would come from. He knew it had nothing to do with his own strength, just his faith. He believed that God would give him the victory.
Never forget where you have been with the Lord. It is necessary to get where we are going. Ask the Lord to give you conquering faith. Then apply your faith and believe.
