Busy Day

Monday, November 02, 2020

It snowed last evening...and it hasn’t warmed up much today. The predicted high is not panning out. Time to get busy on indoor avtivity. I begin each day with flexibility exercises, a few push ups, some bi, tri dumbells and it differs from day to day. Yesterday I could not face the wintry weather but managed a two mile indoor light jog, today I got busy with my closet. Up and down on the little step ladder, hauling plastic bins down then up again, completely refigured Not labeled mind you, but much more organized. Then I came accross a stack of notes my husband made daily as he went through his series of treatments, everything he ate, every med, every appointment. It was substantial, and I tore it all for recycling ( his decision) but kept a few key pages. What that man went through, without a peep of complaint. Not very different from what I do here every day... note my weight ( plateau again ) , log my food, my activity. Now I have to tackle some other drawer or shelf, all my academic stuff- notebooks, term papers, seminar presentations - in two disciplines. Plenty to sift through. Busy work with the odd ten minute jog around our apartment. No way am I going out in that crazy wind and cold. I prefer to ease into winter. This was a bit too abrupt, but we are set for outdoors tomorrow. Found a perfect little padded jacket with hood just squirreled away. And lined boots. I’m ready.

Sorry the weather hasn’t warmed up. At least you can do your indoor activities. Great job in reorganizing your plastic bins. Sometimes notes are important, especially when it pertains to your or hubby’s health. But if it’s time to shred the notes, then it’s time to let it go.

I am in the middle of a major project, cleaning out the garage. I have already made a trip to the dump and I am filling the car with items to donate. Cleaning and organizing is hard work! I am set up to move to more indoor exercises also and I am really glad I purchased an exercise bike. The Covid numbers here are increasing and I do not want to go to the gym.
I am glad your husband took such careful notes and made it through his treatment.

I'm with you - I prefer to ease into winter, but it seldom eases into our area! Suddenly it's freezing and everything is snow-covered! Reminded DH yesterday that we'll run the furnace and fireplace full blast for a few weeks when winter arrives. It always takes awhile to adjust to the winter temperatures. We'll bundle up and shiver around the house in the early part of winter; by the end of winter those same temperatures will call for shorts and sandals!

Yep, indoor chores do get done quicker when the weather is bad. A good job done.

I walk in all kinds of weather. The only thing that stops me is extreme cold or ice.

Yes, time to get serious about indoor activities. Oh well. Happens every year! And it's always too abrupt for me, too.
