Emotional eating?

Wednesday, November 11, 2020

I feel that over time I've accumulated a ton of tools, theories and practices but am no longer sure how they work exactly (or what to use). It's overwhelming.

I've been upset now for about 2 days. My go to is to eventually dive into anything sweet. I'm at the point where I know it's not going to do any good overall. The thing is I don't know how to ease the ache in my heart or somehow ride it through. Grabbing sweets used to be easy but not anymore.

Today it is raining here and I had half a packet of jellybeans in my bag,
so I got stuck in to them. I felt like something sweet. I am going to listen
to some music and watch a movie. We all have days like this. emoticon

Like you I frequently crave sweets when I am upset, stressed, bored, lonely, or tired. I try a variety of techniques (usually) to deal with the stress (take a walk, call a friend, write a journal analyzing possible solutions, play my guitar ...) I'm getting better but I certainly am not perfect!

Oh, it is overwhelming to sort through all the information, advice, mantras, etc when going thru a rough time. I try to just breathe, rest, walk and eat chocolate (can't be perfectšŸ˜Š)
