The Blame Game. Genesis 3:8-13. Nov.23,20
“But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:4
How we as humans love to play the blame game. Not much has changed since the first humans started this. Adam blames Eve for what he has done, and Eve blames the serpent. They both redirected blame and we still do that today.
Adam and Eve fell into sin by listening to the voice of the tempter , resulting in guilt, shame, and fear. Their shame is immediate in that they now knew they were naked. They choose to hide from God when He came to talk to them. They were afraid to face Him. They now knew about good and evil and they realized that they had chosen evil.
Today we often justify things as well by saying, “Its not my fault” or “The devil made me do it” we can comer up with all kinds of excuses. At the root of coarse is our own wrongdoings. So we attempt to blame someone else rather than admit our sin.
We cannot be made to sin. James 1:14 states clearly, “ but each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.” We cannot play the blame game, we fall into sin by listening to our own desires. Instead we need to confess our sins to God who is always ready to forgive us. Don’t blame others, but repent and confess. You will be forgiven when you do.
