Sunday Surmisings
Sunday, November 29, 2020
Awoke to beautiful sparkling frost everywhere, the sun is shining and the skies are blue. It is in the 50's now, warm for the end of November.
Routine sometimes get us through a day, sometimes they are a rut we are stuck in. Now that the feasting of Thanksgiving is over, and winter is here, changes need to be made. Yes I am focused on the holidays. The 13 dishes at Christmas Eve dinner seems a bit excessive for four people. Paring down but still keeping the most important parts:
Meatless can stay, check.
Opłatek defineately stays, check.
Dinner after the appearance of the first star, check.
My cheesecake, check.
Alright we can do this. Traditions do change. For example I have heard of folks that had the Christmas Eve carp swimming in their bathtub until they cooked it for dinner, (yikes). Nope, never did that.
So yes, just like 2020, traditions and routines can and do change.
