unusual times

spent the weekend baking turkeys (they're cheap right now and we have a large freezer), insulating doors and windows and putting up a few decorations. getting together with my in-laws (only) on the 20th, instead of the larger gathering on the 25th. won't be seeing my side of the family until January.

trying hard to stay upbeat and positive while CoVid numbers in our area are spiking. exhausted friends working in healthcare, telling their stories. crying for their patients and patients' families, and then getting up and doing it all again. trying to find some things to do to help, other than masking up and staying home as much as possible.

in a bit of a rut, but will keep moving forward, even if it's slowly. hope everyone out there is staying safe and having a good week!
