Day 3313- Knowing Your Body

So the holidays are over for me. With Covid still very present, we won't be doing anything special for New Year's Eve, so there's no reason not to try hard to lose the few pounds of water weight from the birthday party and Christmas Dinner we had in the past few days.

Other times on this journey, stepping on the scale and seeing almost 4 pounds up would have been reason to throw in the towel. But this time, I know that I'd rather not completely restrict myself and enjoy the celebrations with the idea that there won't be another birthday or holiday celebration for many weeks.

Today I'm going to really focus on making sure I get all my water in, and also listening to my body's cues. Today I felt hungry around 10:30 so I made myself some peanut butter toast with banana. I don't think I'll probably be hungry again until around 3-4 at the earliest, and if I eat a larger meal, it will probably be good enough to be my lunch and dinner. I don't know why I haven't felt much like snacking recently, but I'm fine with that. When I do feel like snacking, I try to grab a clementine, or other fruit I have lying around.

Something I'm really excited about is that I received the Ninja Foodi Toaster Oven/Air Fryer and I'm excited to try new recipes. It's really cool in that it can fold up and out of the way so it's not taking up so much counter space. I also got a cookbook that accompanies it with a lot of sheet pan meals, so I hope to try one of those tonight. If you have a great air fryer or toaster oven recipe, please let me know. I'm still learning how to really utilize my Instapot too, but I definitely use it to make my hard boiled eggs.

I hope your holidays were filled with love and laughter. My mom seems to be doing okay with it being the first year without my brother. We both have our moments but we will be okay.

Have a good week!
