New Beginnings for 2021

Just about to start another round of BLC. This round, I've joined the Powerful Prism Panther team to change things up a bit. I still consider myself new to maintenance as it has been just under 9 months since I reached my goal weight. I work every day to find a balance that allows for an occasional indulgence because I feel strongly, life must be enjoyable. I've never been able to adhere to anything that was too restrictive. I find an occasional overindulgence is inevitable but not detrimental to my overall health. That being said, I have gained a little over a pound over the holidays and, because I'm still learning, I want to nip that upward trend in the bud. I use the 3% plus or minus target weight as my goal range which is quite generous but I am really trying to keep it within 2 pounds of goal weight.

As with every round, we create SMART goals for the round. Here are mine for this round:

cardio=200+ active minutes per week (Fitbit)
ST=minimum of 10 mins 2 times a week
Sleep Goal=consistent bedtime--between 1130pm and 1230am every night
Goal A=5 freggies a day at least 6 days a week
Goal B= stretching at least 5 minutes a day 3x per week.

Strength training has always been the bane of my existence. I haven't YET been successful at making it a habit. I'm pretty sure if I was able to be consistent, it would be more enjoyable. Since I reached my goal weight, I have been a little more lax with the freggies and I think that has contributed a little to the up-creep. I would really like to improve my flexibility.

Now-there are many other things I'd like to work on outside the parameters of the BLC.
I want to make sure I get outside for part of every day.
I want to spend some time scrapbooking at least once a week.
I want to increase my daily step count.
I want to reduce my intake of processed foods.
I need to reduce my sodium intake.
I want to try new recipes. I am not a cook. I don't enjoy cooking but I do enjoy eating so "if you can't love what you're doing--love why you're doing it" may be my motivation.
I want to be more mindful when I eat.
I want to look for and acknowledge a "pocket of joy" every day.
Estoy aprendiendo a hablar espaƱol and I hope to become fluent
And--I still want to be able to do at least one "boy" push-up.

I'm sure there are other things I could add to the list but, for now, will have to narrow the focus just a bit.

So, here we are at the start of another round of BLC. New Beginnings are exciting. Every day is a new opportunity, a clean slate. Time to make a plan! Baby steps. Big results. No excuses. No regrets. Learn. Grow. Succeed.

    You've outlined some great goals - yes, I giggled at the idea of a "boy pushup" because I'd be happy if I could just do a "girl" one! lol!!!
