What Have You Done Today to Make Yourself Proud?

Friday, January 01, 2021

I am proud of myself tonight. For the first time in many, many months I have accomplished 10,000 steps two day this week. A lot of these steps are playing games (Beat Saber & Dance Central), they are a gateway to getting more consistent movement because they are fun and it doesn't feel like exercise. As an added bonus I feel more alert and focused.

I am also poud of the fact that I spent a good hour to hour and a half decluttering my home. I got rid of at least 10 boxes, a bag of trash, reorganized the space where they had all been piled up and now have a good section of floor that needs to be vacumed. Yea!

I did this while DH was playing on "my" Oculus". Why was I motiviated by this, because the games run on MY computer. LOL! Since I wasn't able to sit at my compupter I decided to break down more boxes and clean out the area in front of my dining room table (which I can now at least touch).

I have much more to do, but I have been consistently chipping away at it. I have 5 (small) boxes of shreddables that I will be taking to the local shredding company. It feels amazing to have all this space opening up in the house. Like my brain can breathe again. Amazing. Maybe this time I can keep these areas clear of clutter while continuing to dig out from under all the boxes. Which is my main goal for at least the first part of the year. With the goal of going back to school I will need the space (both mentally & physically).

Happy 2021 New Year.

emoticon Two days this week with 10000 steps! I'm so proud of you for finding a fun outlet that results in movement. AND you've been dealing with clutter resulting in clearing space in your home. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Congrats on getting 10,000 steps twice this week! But, more importantly, emoticon on getting rid of "at least 10 boxes and a bag of trash"! The trick is to just stay on top of it, which is easier said than done, which I know you know.

I'll keep my fingers crossed, the area remains clear for at least a few months. emoticon

Girl, look at you! I just packed up the Christmas decorations and had a hard time finding a place for everything amidst a lot of stuff we keep holding on to. I hope to convince my husband to offload some of the stuff we truly don’t need. Even if we have the space, I don’t want to crowd out the things I enjoy. I’m sure you feel the same way.

And, OMG, 10k steps have seemed so elusive for me lately! Congrats! I got 10k yesterday from boxing up Christmas decorations. Lol! We decorated two trees, so there was a lot of back and forth to put like things in the same box.

    Happy New Year, Cyndi!

That is wonderful! I always feel great when things are cleaned up and uncluttered. Right now I need to get into my room over the garage. It is a super big mess!

That's so fantastic! I can't wait to try out Beat Saber, whenever my Oculus finally arrives!

It's also wonderful to de-clutter. I went through a big purge a couple years ago, when we were preparing to have all the hardwood floors refinished. In order to stay (somewhat) on top of things, I've set myself a goal to do 15 minutes of decluttering most days. It's a work in progress!
