just sayin’ … one pound at a time

Friday, February 05, 2021

Two more days and I got a month going here. Sugar is out of my system. Now to get the antibiotic and codeine from the dental implant out, too.

Dr K … what can I say. She has impressed me several times now after I wrote her off coz … she’s extra fluffy. After a teleconference … script for meds was sent, order received, order shipped. All in one day!!! For the right drug. And to the right pharmacy!!!

She wants me to up my Vit D3 to 2,000 units daily even though my labs reflect “in the normal range”. She finds that since my T3 is low … extra Vit D3 can help balance this out.

New lab work in 6 months and a return visit. I struggle with dangling rewards in front of myself. If I would just do … exercise, drink water, get in X number of steps per day … fill in the blank, then I will reward myself with … new shoes, new pants, fill in the blank. I have most everything I truly want. But seeing the look on her face with me weighing less that she saw me Jan 29th … well, now that’s a reward.

Bin doors stained and sealed. Now to hang 12 feet in the air to sand and paint the wood trim. One step at a time.

One pound at a time.

Just do it … already. No matter what.

*******
Change your mind … and the rest WILL follow.

I'm on extra D and calcium too . . . and especially during the winter, it seems to help my general well being!! So glad you and your doctor are working together.

One pound at a time is all it takes!!

Hi! Good thinking going on! Congrats on a pound down and the next one too! Lol
    Keep up with consistency!
As for more water and more steps...maybe think/write down three specific whys for each. We have our overall whys for weightloss that we can refer back to...
Reframe some thinking - (my thoughts) Water and steps are really easier for me than calorie restriction. If I can cut back on sugar and cals I can surely drink more water and exercise. Actually, the more water I drink, the thirstier I feel...win, win. Don’t get me wrong, I do slip up some days but I must say that water and exercise are now true habits that I don’t have to think about much. But tracking and limiting cals is a whole different story! Go figure

I haven’t found any vitamin supplements necessary, yet. Not a believer on that one yet. Suppose I credit good health for not needing help other than good nutrition. Grateful

Anywho, that’s my two cents and best wishes on your continued journey!

    Nononono!
No dangling 12 feet in the air!
I told you I have a hard time taking health professionals seriously when they are obese.
I also did not like my new doctor the first two or three times I saw her but now, five years later, I like her a lot. She’s a 90 pound Filipino divorced mother of three, one in medical school.
    Reverse fat discrimination?

That's awesome! You're doing a good job. That is something that I do, too . . . up the ante on Vit. D during the winter. ILt's really helped me feel better these last few winters.

    Good luck w/the cabinets!

HUGS and have a good weekend.
