A belated orchid, Valentine's day gift from my son and his girl friend. It brightens my room and brings spring inside. The snow finally stopped and the winds whipped the snow into interesting sculptures, which my son is currently taming. The sun is shining and it isn't single digit temps. It brings hope of beautiful spring days, to this old girl. Only 32 days till spring!

This morning whilst making my morning brew I noticed a squirrel sitting atop my hammock swing frame. He appeared to be begging for food, although I'm quite sure I'm anthropomorphizing. I opened the window and threw a crust of nutty bread out (only the best little buddy). He did enjoy. After a short time Hossa (dog) wanted out so I darted out to grab a couple bird feeders. The little squirrel bitched me out!!! Ungrateful little bugger! I must get out for some real critter food. Not to mention some human food, need to restock the fruit bowl.

My prayers go out to all those across our nation who are experiencing the worse of mother nature.

Note to self, be thankful for the little things as well as the big. Sometimes I need to look beyond the current trials to brighter days with the expectation of blessings.
