Living the Good Life – Quality of Life our Week 7 Challenge
This is our focus this week. Quality of Life is multidimensional and can be expressed in many different ways, but for the purposes of this challenge think in terms of overall health, happiness, energy, peace, harmony, mental, physical, emotional, spiritual wellness, more smiles, and general well being. This is self care and could be something you are already doing and need to do more of, or something you know would improve how you feel but haven't started yet.
Focus on your daily quality of life and your ability to enjoy the activities of daily living. What can you do immediately and daily to improve your quality of life to make yourself feel better, healthier, more comfortable, or happier? Yes this is all about you and what you can do for yourself.
It can be anything important to you - more sleep, a daily walk, leisure, make lunch for tomorrow, reorganize your work space or home, learn something new, gratitude journal, connect with a loved one, watch or read something funny, destress, serenity, prayer, meditation, unplug - free up time to do nothing for 10 minutes (just be), workout, take up a new good habit, finish a project, learn an important skill, or anything else that comes to mind.
This may sound wide open and it should be, we each have different wants and needs. Pick a simple, short 10 minute activity you will focus on daily to improve how you feel, then do it each day.
My Day One - off to a great start!
Physical - I want to improve my lung function/capacity. I did 3 walks for a total of 10,000 steps with Rebel. One was a morning hike in the forest, in the afternoon exploring a neighborhood nearby, and the last one was a night time walk for Rebel.
In the afternoon we took 50 pounds of old documents to the Shred-a-thon.
In the evening I learned something new - two new songs, and sang for 40 minutes, and I am continuing with Duolingo French.
After dinner we watched a funny movie, THE POLKA KING. Before bedtime we will watch Superstore (a comedy series on Netflix).
Daily Exercise - our streak is close to 9 months. Perfect attendance.
After COVID confinement lingering on, it's good to refocus.
How was your Day One?
