The Sun Is Playing Peek-A-Boo Today

We never did get a good solid rain yesterday afternoon – Little sprinkles here and there. If it rained last night, I certainly didn’t hear it. This morning I woke up to fog, which slowly cleared to what we have now – Cloudy, threatening rain, with the sun peeking through.
Little things just really make my day, though! The man who owns the plumbing company I use asked me if I would like him to till my garden. This morning he called and asked if it was a good time to get it done – Heck, yeah! He got the main garden tilled in record time and will come back in a week to 10 days to till again and then till to two smaller plots. I am truly blessed! He really loved the plants I’ve started,. He said they’re much nicer than the ones for sale at the feed store, and he’s right. He doesn’t have the time to start plants, so I’m going to give him some of them for his own garden, and I told him that next year I’ll be glad to start a few trays for him.
Isn’t it funny how when you retire you’d rather be hung with a new rope than go shopping on the weekend? Or after 5:00 p.m. - Basically, any time that you know everyone who works a job will be out shopping. Off to the grocery store, where I got everything on my list and found fresh asparagus for $0.79/bunch. Each bunch was almost 2 lbs! So...some for stir-fry, and some for pickling!
It’s been hot and humid these past couple of days. Yesterday, the high was 82, and the temperature inside the house was 87. James and I could have lived with it, but the poor dogs were miserable, so we put the A/C on 78. It’s so nice in here! We all slept very well, needless to say, and the house is a pleasant place to be! I can’t wait to get my window replacement scheduled – Can you just imagine how awesome it will be to have energy efficient windows? This summer should be awesome!
I best go get supper on the table – It’s that time….
