So….I’ve got my third window quote. It’s the highest one, and it seems to be a pretty fair offer. However, the salesman has been here three times, and is always late. He’s hard to get ahold of, too, and tells me that he’s in areas with no cell phone service….. I find that he’s got a lot of personal troubles, and despite the claims that the windows his company will provide are outstanding, the manufacturer seems to have a lot of problems with their customer service and warranty.
The next highest has provided me with only an email with a quote, and the person they sent to measure the windows didn’t give me much information about the product they wanted to install.
And the lowest not only gave me a prompt quote and a time frame for installation, but the reviews on their products and service is very good. Both of the other companies have told me how unreliable and terrible they are…..Call me crazy, but I’m inclined to lean toward the this one. The guy that repaired my stove told me that he and his wife used this company and they are extremely pleased.
From the time frame given, my windows will be installed around the middle to end of June – we should be in our rainy season…..The most expensive company tells me that they can’t install until mid to end of July – full blown hurricane season...
Decisions, decisions…..I'll do a little more research and then decide.
‘Still waiting for an electrician to call me back. Ditto for the handyman....One project at a time.
Today is one of those gray, threatening rain any minute sort of days. The weather promises winds of 4 to 12 mph and showers on and off for the next few days.
Days like this are the perfect days to just stay in and work on projects or just relax and watch a movie. This is a good thing, since I somehow managed to aggravate the arthritis in my left hip again. It’s not horrible, and so long as I let it rest and heal, it won’t be. Outside, Mother Nature is working her magic – the trees are leafing out, blackberries have gone from blooms to green berries, my neighbor’s pear tree has begun to form tiny pears, and when the wind and rain no longer threaten – probably Sunday – I just might be able to get some of the garden planted!
Time to go get my last cup of coffee for the morning -
