Week two, 5% Spring Challenge

The scale moved! My hard work paid off! I lost 2.5 this week and I have myself to thank! No real secret formula...just sheer determination and adherence to my self prescribed program. I haven’t had a drink in a week, so I’m sure that’s a major player here. Plus, I incorporated strength training this week. Very pleased.

This week we are charged to monitor our calcium intake. Something I take seriously. And it’s a nutrient I already know I’m not getting enough of. Women my age should strive for 1200mg/day...I’m lucky if I get half that! I eat Greek yogurt w fruit every morning and then the rest of my calcium intake comes from various other sources. Still not enough. I’ll try adding a glass of milk daily...and if that’s not enough, I’ll take a Tums. I already take a multi-vitamin, so I know there is calcium coming from that.

Today the nation will watch as Queen Elizabeth buries her beloved Prince Phillip. The nation...the world...mourns with her. RIP Prince Phillip. emoticon

    emoticon You're stepping off that plateau! I wish I could say that I'd made 2.5 # of progress, but I bought my DH an electric grill for our terrace. (His 70th birthday is next Thursday.) We absolutely love the grill, and the meals are so good, that I've had a glass of wine with those healthful grilled meats and veggies. emoticon I should take my own advice. emoticon Fortunately, I've had a week of rigorous jogging. emoticon

    Yes , it is a sad day for the Royals; Prince Philip was the Queens beloved for sure. We will be watching as well.
