It is not as easy to be optimistic about weight loss anymore. I have fought this battle since puberty and am not 65 years old. The good news is I probably could have been much heavier if I had not educated myself about nutrition and health. I made an effort to stay active and healthy, even when I am overweight. The bad news is...weight just seems to be a fact of my life and one I cannot kick. I can however improve it. I retired in December, came home to work before that, like so many. The year at home has taken somewhat of a toll; really stiff and low stamina. So, I am making my goals somewhat modest. Lose 301bs. If I can lose 30 and hold it, I will be pretty happy. Build my strength so I can travel, camp and hike, like I want to. I am as interested in exercise as I am weight loss. I am clear eyed about the odds of attaining the weight on any chart, but do feel I can improve my health and quality of life, so that is my intent.
