My wonderful Hubby!

Tuesday, May 11, 2021

Good Evening my lovely Spark Family!

I have to do a blog on my hubby...his name is Lyon....I have been with him since I was 16 yrs old...we got pregnant really fast ( I know I can hear all the mom's out there) we had our son when I was 17 ...I quit school to raise our son...he went to school and worked mid-nights...I did go back to school to get my high school diploma but that is how we managed back then...

This guy is my rock! he has seen me at my worst -I had a nervous breakdown right after giving birth...we were told to give our child up for adoption as we were not married...we started the process and I could not go thru with it...that is when I became Feisty! This is my nick name from Lyon my license plate says" 2 feisty"...we had to go thru many loops and bounds we had to live with my parents as like I said we were not married, Lyon went to school during the day and worked nights ...I was not allowed to be alone with Justin , had doctors, and CPS and welfare check on me daily ...and finally after a year I was deemed ok to find an apartment...

I then went back to school and work and Lyon still was in school he loves to learn...I think he was taking computer technology in college than....I was hard to try and be parents when we honestly did not know each other well..and try and keep our relationship we came up with we have to do monthly date nights...either he will plan it or I will and we tell each other how to dress for it u would when u are dating ...we both never knew where or what we are going to do ...and honestly that is the glue that kept us strong...
Covid has changed that this year is the only time that we have not kept that "promise" of our date nights

Then came my second nervous breakdown( 2009) I am not comfortable with discussing what brought this one on but it was a series of events from all over...this one "almost" put me in the hospital for good...this one took a while to heal from....and yet hubby was by my side.....ALWAYS

Then came my health conditions and the loss of loosing both parents so young and my best friend within 19 months of them all and I tell ya that was so hard for me to stay sharp ...I know if I have another breakdown that is it for me I fought the hardest demon ever in my life than...hubby never left my side, never let me be alone , went everywhere with me,,, played guitar so I can focus on something...played music and we would dance ...he did many things
to keep my mind sharp and focused so I would not "slip" back....

He has supported me in my and I guess our journey of rescuing abused animals....
We are complete opposites! I am and metal head I guess u can call it ...he is a geek...but we fit perfectly together....
We enjoy working out together and pushing each other...we keep each other accountable...he has his health issues and I keep him on he calls it is a mystery with all I am going thru ...but he is still researching , reading, exploring things that can help me ,even if I only get one hour of relief is one hour..!
I can go on and on and on about Lyon...he is my rock, my soulmate, my has been 33 yrs together and married for 24 this August...

And yes if u can not guess I am totally in love with Lyon! And I am so thankful he is my guy!

I would love to hear about your soulmate!
Chow for now

What a beautiful story, my friend.
I can see why you love him so much… He has been with you through thick and thin.
My guy and I have a similar history… I was pregnant at 16, dropped out of high school to get married, the day after his 19th birthday.
This was in 1968… My man enlisted in the Air Force so he wouldn’t get drafted and sent to Vietnam.
We spent those first ten years growing up together and moving here and there around the country while we had our baby boy in 1969 and then another one in 1970.
We sort of settled in Maryland the last seven years and put each other through college with his G.I. Bill.
Then we move back to Rhode Island, where we both grew up.
He became a commercial fisherman and then a fish salesman.
I became a special ed teacher and then a third grade teacher and taught for almost 30 years, retiring to take care of my mother the last years of her life....and then our 3 grandkids came and we’ve been busy with that ever since.
We lost our three grandbabies daddy, our youngest son Patrick, 50, this last November of colon cancer.
It is the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through.
This August will be our 53rd anniversary and we are still so happy and in love.
We both have some health issues now, I’m 69 and he 72.
But he still makes me laugh every day… And he loves my cooking.

Hugs, I believe when we have a spouse supporting us regardless if it's easy or hard is our saving grace. This is what a good marriage is.
