just sayin’ … life is a kaleidoscope

Sunday, May 16, 2021

Well, there are no more Wheat Thins in the house. Yep, I ate the rest of the box. Why???

When I say it out loud … it doesn’t make as much sense as it did when I was eating them.

Let’s see … I walked 5x last week. YEAH, me.

Then I ate 4x my body weight.

Friday, I talked to BFF Sharon’s mom. She’s not doing well. She’s totally isolated in the woods of Texas. Plans are being made for us to go to Texas and clean up Sharon’s house.

Dear beloved Hubby started making noise about COVID. He’s right. Don’t ya just hate it when they’re right??? He’s still coming off meds from his psychotic break in February. We go to the doc Wednesday.

But he’s being a … challenge about us going and cleaning out my Sister Friend’s house. This trip would include us seeing DS1 for the first time in almost 2 years. Yes, coz of COVID.

Then we heard from DS1. The meds for his brain tumor are working … but not working. Doc increased the frequency he takes them … which increases his daily headaches. Doc wants to recheck in 6-8 weeks but is talking surgery. DS1 found out his newly secured health insurance doesn’t cover surgery or hospital stays. Huh???

So, I picked up the phone to call BFF Sharon … and she didn’t answer the call. Huh??? She really, really is ... gone, dead, gone forever.

It was lunch time … ate clean. Then I got a handful of Wheat Thins. Then I got some more. Then … well, there was chocolate and then there was …

So, OnesKidsMom … life is a kaleidoscope … very colorful here.

Change your mind … and the rest WILL follow.

    Like others, echoing MEADSBAY's advice.

I am sure a DS hug will help. Doesn't quiet the pain, but it will help.

You are dealing w/SOOOOOOooooo much. **SIGH** Wish there was a way to lighten the load.

MEADSBAY wrote everything that I would like to have written. PLEASE don't follow my path of grief , eating myself into sugar comas to switch myself off from the world for a few blissful hours at a time, only to emerge 2 years later 100 pounds heavier. Please don't do that to yourself. Did it make anything better or bring my Mum back doing what I did? Of course it didn't, it made it all so much worse until I couldn't even walk anymore. What would you say to the recovered alcoholic or drug addict if they were turning back to their chosen medicenes to comfort/hide/stay in denial? Aren't you worth more than that? emoticon emoticon emoticon

You are dealing with . . a lot. And you can trust yourself that you know what you need to do.

    They all said it.
    I feel it.

We're being cautious but opening up to life.

    Listen, my friend.
You know I care deeply about you, right?
You are going through a horrendous time right now.
Anyone in the right mind would agree.
Eating a bunch of crap does not make anything better.
Seriously, find some other ways to comfort yourself.
    You need to comfort yourself.
    You deserve to comfort yourself.
Don’t make me come out there and comfort you myself.

emoticon Long haul to TX, plan and be careful, is all I can say. I'm thinking you really need that DS hug. And you and your DH are fully vaxxed, if I recall correctly. So safe-er, even if not totally risk-free. May the patterns be pleasant ones, if bitter-sweet.

All I can say is you have been through a lot! I am glad there are no wheat thins left in the house. Ever find it strange that the manufacturer calls them wheat THINS?? ... emoticon ... Are they suggesting we will get thin from eating them? ..I tell you! More false advertising! ... I do hope life gets progressively better and easier to deal with on all these different levels. ....Sending big hugs!
