Reasons to be cheerful.

1)  June 19th - Elaine's Garden Party

Seemingly pretty much all the 'Birthday Brunch Bunch' will be able to attend which is wonderful.  It's sooooooooooo long since we've all been together.  Plus of course I'll get to see The Family.  Elaine can't cook to save her life [I'm not sure she can even boil an egg], so natch she's asked me to deal with the catering.  I'm happy with that.  It's 'my thing'.  It will be a pleasure to be cooking for others.  Even more of a pleasure if youngest son is able to do the actual barbecuing, leaving me free to talk with family and friends.  Obvs I'll be staying for a few days or so and hopefully be able to catch up with lots of friends.

2) July 10th - Clued up

I really enjoy quizzes, treasure hunts and murder mystery type things.  I don't mean on TV but as 'real life' events.  A while back I saw an ad for a 'clued upp' event locally.  Messaged The Family, and daughter plus youngest son were definitely up for it.  So I've bought a ticket. Not sure if either Son in Law or Eldest son will be able to join us.  Definitely not both given they are 'The Management' at the golf course where they work.  The Team can be up to six so I have the option of inviting other people.  One of the neighbours who knows the area would be a good move!

3)  August 5th - Abba under the stars

Nursey is a MASSIVE Abba fan.  I happened across the above link for an event that I thought she might enjoy.  She's making a good recovery from her treatment for Breast Cancer - this time last year she was just starting the Chemo.  So I sent her the link and asked if she was up to it and for it.  As her birthday is in July I suggested it would be my 'birthday treat' for her.  Nursey said YES.  I am so excited.  Not at the thought of an Abba tribute band, but at the two of us spending some time together and my being able to hopefully spoil her.

Actually, no one could ever 'spoil' Nursey.  She's one of life's 'givers'.  Treat her is what I mean, I guess.  Whatever, I am SO excited regardless of whether I'll be 'spoiling' or 'treating' her.  Furthermore, feeling rather daring at actually booking things.  Like in the old days.

Bright blessings
