Day 5: EXCUSE #1 - No Time to Exercise

My biggest goal toward weight loss success is to eliminate excuses because anytime I do not accomplish something, there was a really good excuse for not doing it.

Taking the time to exercise is difficult for me because I work 12-18 hour days. So, I joined the SP 10 Minute Fitness Club-- this seems an easy way to eliminate one excuse-- TIME. If I don't have time to go to the gym, I can do some sort of exercise at least 10 minutes each day even if it is going up and down my stairs for 10 minutes. I waste more than 10 minutes each day, so no more excuse. But I don't wast the 10 minutes... I GIVE IT ALL I'VE GOT for those 10 minutes!

Another thing that has helped me look forward to exercise this week is being bold and introducing myself to women at the gym and developing casual friendships. Now by the end of my first week, people smile and wave when I walk in because they recognize me -- these friendly faces help make it so much easier to attempt to get there no matter how crazy my schedule is.

Week 1-- I MADE TIME to exercise:

TIME is always such a big excuse in my life, there never seems to be enough time to cook healthy, chop/peel vegies to keep on hand, no time to exercise, etc..

So, this week I MADE TIME to exercise, even though I worked all night until 6am. And, when I did steal those 30 minutes to exercise, I GAVE IT MY ALL! If I caught myself slacking, I worked harder. I would work so hard that I thought my arms and legs would fall off... then I worked another 20 seconds longer, really pushing myself.

I stomp up and down the stair stepper and I swing my elbows up and down as hard as I could (I saw the trainers teach that on the Biggest Loser last Tuesday night.) My heart rate really soared when I used my arms.

Here's to all of us GIVING IT OUR ALL THIS WEEK!
WE ARE STRONG!!! WE CAN DO THIS-- ELIMINATING EXCUSES IS OUR KEY TO SUCCESS! If I find myself leaning toward an excuse, I'm finding my way away around it... going for the GOLD!

You are so right about reaching out at the gym - when people get used to ssing you, there is a kind of accountability when you don't come in at your 'usual' time.
