Hi Kathy! I've come to realize that there is nothing circus-like about weight loss. It's hard work and it's as serious as a heart attack... or cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and the many other diseases and disorders that obesity contributes to directly or indirectly. Losing an average of two pounds weekly will be a challenge but it's very doable. The key is building habits that will last the rest of your life because once you do drop the weight you will still have to continue all the same healthy living habits in order to maintain that loss. The longer you do it, the easier it gets but the bottom line is that if you want to lose and keep it off... there is no quitting. It's a lifetime commitment. You *can* do it! Welcome back to SparkPeople!

I'm baaack. I was on Spark People about 5 years ago and was unsuccessful with the weight loss circus. Since then, I've gained even more weight. I need to lose 30 lbs. I'm hoping to lose an average of 2 lbs. per week. I was hoping to have a few friends who would like to be my "accountability buddies". I am 61 and in fairly good health. Kathy
