Good one re giving up the alcohol, for a couple weeks, and for your weight-loss so far.

Because you are struggling, I strongly suggest that you talk with your Dr and ask for a referral to a Therapist who deals with alcohol issues - even if yours are not considered serious issues. They can help tremendously, including with other avenues of your life you may be struggling with.

I had help from one - not because I drank alcohol but because my late husband was an alcoholic and there were issues involved regarding that. She was a huge help, even tho' we mostly didn't talk about his drinking, or even alcohol at all. It was having an outlet for me which was the help.

Take care,
Kris

MRSM1014,

Nice job giving up the alcohol for a couple of weeks. That's a big step. Don't beat yourself up because you seem to be losing motivation. You're not a machine that can eat right 24/7. You're a normal human being with normal human needs.

Rome wasn't built in a day and neither were you. Losing weight takes time.

If you do find yourself getting bored or losing motivation, it's time to shake up your routine. If you've been eating the same food day after day, time for a new menu. And you don't have to do anything radical. Try a different salad dressing. Try some different recipes.

If you've been doing the same exercise routine, ditto. time for a change. maybe take a new class at the gym. walk a different route around the neighborhood. Changing your routine keeps things fresh.

Great job on not drinking in almost 2 weeks! That's a big accomplishment right there and definitely something to be proud of! Not having the calories from the alcohol should help as long as you aren't replacing those calories with something else (presuming you are staying within a good calorie range for weight loss).

Have you been exercising at all? Exercise can not only improve our fitness, health, help with weight loss, but it can also improve our mood and how we feel. Even if you can get out for a 10 minute walk, that can do a lot of positive things for your mind and body.

Keep posting and let us know how you're doing! You've got this!

Well, I signed up for Nutrisystem 4.5 or 5 months ago and dropped from 205 to 184 and I have been drifting between 183 and 186 for the last two months. It's like I'm stuck.
I have followed the program about 80% of the time, and the rest of the time I have slipped a little. My biggest challenge has been giving up alcohol, which I'm working on - haven't had a drink in almost two weeks. I'm just hoping someone can send out a lifeline for me. So very depressed and losing all my motivation.
Thanks for listening to me belly-ache about it.
