I've lost 100 pounds and still have about 140 more to go to get to 170. It is a long journey so I don't focus much on the weight. I just focus on walking the walk and working the plan. I eat according to how I should eat at 170 pounds and so when I get there I am ready.

I find looking at the whole picture can be discouraging. I break it down into 10 increments. When i lose the 1st 10 i"ll give myself a small reward. Lost 8 so far so i ordered a book from amazon. Hopeful I'll have the other 2 off before it comes. if not I'll just wait until i do before I open it.

I started out at 269 an I'm currently at 259. Not a huge difference, but I'll take it. My goal is to reach 190 (I'm very tall, by the way). so that's right around 70 lbs, then I'll see where I want to go from there. You can do this, just try not to think about the 200 lbs you want to lose, but the next 5 or 10. It's less overwhelming that way.

hiya, Dawn, and everyone! I feel low carb is the best for me, too. It's a wonderful plan, and no (physical) hunger!

I weighed in yesterday, and the scale said 324... down just about 60 pounds from late last June, about 2 weeks short of 5 months.

If *I* can do it, anyone can! WOO HOO, US!

hey Mocha....I started this Sept and I weighed in at 418lbs...highest weight ever! In the middle of Sept. I switched to low carb. Although I got down to 390 (so far) I gained two pounds back (pms'ing) but since then lost those 2 lbs again. I have 230 lbs to lose...my goal weight is 160lbs. We can do it. I have faith you can!

Nice to be checking in again. :)

I weighed in at 368 after 1 full month on LCHF. And the following week, down another 3.4 pounds. 18.7 pounds thrown away, so far.

Like you, Mocha, I am aiming for 165, if it's even possible. But, hell -- if I can break 180 I'd be thrilled.

Using Sparkpeople trackers, message boards, Spark Recipes, Spark teams help me keep on track. I've GAINED 1 pound WATER weight since November 10 ( that's when I started tracking daily) . With Sparkpeople I've kept 25 pounds OFF since November 10. I'm so excited!

Make one small change at a time. Even the smallest things make the biggest difference especially in weight loss :)

I agree with other SP members - break down your goals into smaller increments. Every little bit helps. Even if I have only lost a pound or two at the next weigh-in, it is something worth celebrating. I reward myself with things that are useful for hobbies or I allow myself a total "goof-off" day to go see a museum or drive somewhere so I can enjoy the scenery. Best of luck to you on your journey.

I have days I lack motivation so getting back on Sparkpeople and weigh ins for challenges keeps me motivated! I have my doctor's full support and he is a great motivator. I've gone down a bra size too, I'm donating my 3x clothes. I sleep better, have less mood swings, perform better at work. Less medicine is great and saving for a car to buy and drive will take a few years to save for and by then I'll be cleared to drive. Huge motivation!

Make one small change at a time. Even the smallest things make the biggest difference especially in weight loss :)

Been struggling emotionally -- so much going on. My weight reflects it, obviously.

First off... I love that blue dress you're wearing it's gorgeous!

Now that I have that out of the way... I started at 225 and just logged in today at 153; my goal is 125. My total weight loss goals are a little different than yours but I'd love to be your buddy and encourage you along the way! It's hard, and it's harder if there's nobody there to say congrats or you can do it or that it's okay.

That's why I love sparkpeople so much :) because it gives you people like that

Hi Mocha

I'm new to spark but not to "trying" to diet. I am so encouraged by your post. I am in awe. I have started this latest weight loss attempt at 270 and the "silly" facts state I should weigh about 110. So that puts me close to having to lose 200. I am 71 and I don't think I have too many "start-overs" left to use -- so I need to stay with the program. Thanks for posting today and giving me the courage to follow suit. --- Sharon

15 months ago I weighed 223LBs yesterday I weighed in at 122.5. I haven't weighed this amount in twenty years. You can do it.take it one day or even one hour at at time. Think in 5 Lb pieces not 200. You can do it!Good luck!

I am just getting started back on this fitness journey and I have a long road ahead. I am going to need to stay motivated for the journey and I need to make new buddies along the way.
