Here's a trick a friend told me about years ago. Take some spent cigarettes (hopefully that someone ELSE smoked!) and put them into a small jar with a tight fitting lid. Add a tiny bit of water and just let it sit. Whenever the urge gets really strong, open that jar and take a whiff. That will DEFINITELY kill that craving at the moment. Believe me, it STINKS!!!
They say that a craving comes on and lasts only about 90 seconds or so, so take some deep breaths when those cravings hit, get up and walk around for a couple of minutes, put a package of nicotine lozenges or a few pieces of the gum in your pocket and keep them with you at all times. You CAN beat this! I tried many times before I was finally successful! We're all here for you!

It does get better. Just take it one day at a time like losing weight and keeping it off. They're both lifestyle changes. I smoked for 16 yrs and I've been quit for the past 16 yrs. My husband still smokes and I can't stand the smell of them anymore. Strength be with you all.

Congrats!!! Keep going... eventually, the thought of a cigarette will disgust you and so will the smell when you catch someone else smoking. But it takes a while. Be patient and realize this is a big a change!!!!
On Oct. 1, I celebrated my 20th anniversary of being smoke-free! I don't think about it anymore, but boy, when I hear someone say they are quitting I step up to cheer for them because even after 20 years, I remember that struggle!
