I just found this board and glad I did. I love your fast break ideas. I did some but didn't call them that.

I joined Spark in 2007 after being a gym member since 2002.

I fell last year and tore rotator cuff. No doctor would give me therapy. I recovered full range of motion with the help of pool/gym exercise. I fell again in July injuring limbs. I spent a lot of time going from doctor to doctor. which didn't help. A friend told me about pool physical therapy she attends. I talked GP into prescribing this therapy. It was touch and go thru first set of sessions. Sometime I could walk during and after pool session. Other days I couldn't exercise in the pool and stand afterwards. I stuck with it and GP ordered second pt set. A ortho doctor told me a long time ago that I would only be able to do 1-2 things daily. I found this is true for me. I need to sit in between doing things. It is hard sticking to a diet in this heat. Most days I just want to drink ice cold water or tea instead of eating.

Hello everyone this is my first day on this board. I just started with Premium and didn't even know all of these different boards existed. I had a brain tumor that was removed in February and I am now disabled. I have two autistic adult sons. It's quite an adventure. Thank you for allowing me to join the board.

You can do it, NASFKAB! Just be sure you are aware of what exercises you can safely do and if there are some that you should avoid entirely.

Thank you! I'm already experiencing some challenges (which are expected and discussed with a doc). I'm going to stick to my fast break plans though, because it will feel good to have accomplished these promises to myself even if I have to calm down my exercise routine temporarily.

I was a member for years, and super active both here and out in the world. I was in the best shape of my life in my thirties and early forties. Then, my body started suffering from several health issues that required that I basically didn't move during the most active stages of the disease. Then, I was in a car wreck. I had to use mobility aides for years. My life was made up of doc appointments, being prodded by specialists, surgery, physical therapy, and loss of a lot (like my business).
I think a part of me was so frustrated about not being at the level that I used to be, that I just gave up. I thought, "This is my life now."

The other day, I'm not sure what changed. I just wanted MORE. I know that I can never be the extremely pretty little sporty spice that effortlessly did things like run, but I can experience more freedom and health than I have right now.

So, my journey has a lot of gunk to clear. I'm trying to set fast breaks that are reasonable. So far, I've chosen to avoid social media for an hour a day, eat at least one piece of produce a day, and stretch for 5 minutes. I can do that, even if movement is hard. If you, like me, find yourself with some pretty rough obstacles and BIG emotions, and really need another cheerleader to support the attainable victories...let's buddy up and help each other.
