Hello team, I'm not new to SP, but took what I thought was a much needed break. I've been weing 200+ lbs for about 1.5 yrs and I can't take it any more. My knees are killing me and I know it's mainly this extra weight. Looking forward to motivation and that needed Push to get me going again.

Thank you for the relate. I know that I am not alone in my plight and just frustrated. I will trudge along and try getting on here once a day for inspiration. I did have knee surgery many years ago and it is better. I may have just over did it and I am paying the price, learning my lesson. Together we can!

Hi Karen, I can SO relate to everything you said. I feel the same way. I've already had a knee surgery and I still am not able to squat or kneel at all without extreme pain. I know loosing weight will help so much but I still find excuses not to do what I know I need to do. It's very frustrating. Best of luck to you, I find that coming on here daily does help and read success stories to stay motivated. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi, my name is Karen and I am not new to Sparkpeople but looking for more push to get where I need to be.

I've been in the 200s for longer than I care to admit. I can't seem to break free. It feels like this vice that's rusted shut! I have to get this weight off and I know that. My knees can't take much more. I have more excuses for not doing than for doing (they sound good to me). I want to feel good and I want to look good. A couple of years ago I lost 20 lbs and just that 20 made me feel great. I had so much energy. But I didn't watch what I was doing and every pound crawled back on me. So, here I am, joining another group in hopes that someone out there will keep me on track as I can't seem to do it myself.

In hopes that you have what I need.

Karen

Hello, I'm new to this team but not to SP. I've started and stopped a bunch of times but want to do it this time SOOO BAD! emoticon I am around 260lbs and have decided to get rid of my scales. The numbers drive me crazy and set me back so much some times. I am going to focus on measurements and how my clothes fit. Getting under 200 would be a huge milestone for me! Weekends are my biggest challenge and I'm hoping to find ways of working through them without blowing all of my hard work all week. I'm happy to have found this new group! emoticon

Hey! I am definitely looking for some help to break out the 200s. Over a year ago I was so close but just lingered at 210 for weeks and gave up on my self. I gained most of the weight I lost and with some health issues arising on the horizon I know that I have to get back at it and just do it. I know they say that the number on the scale is JUST a number, but it seems to mean a lot to me. I'm hoping to motivate and be motivated here. GO TEAM!!

I'm Jesse. A 35 year old stay at home mom. Been closing in on 400lbs for the past year. It has added strain on my health, family, and put me on anxiety and depression meds. I despise exercise and eat to relieve stress.

I am working on both of these things this month. Last month was water intake, month before was cutting portions in half. *was eating 4portions of food for each meal- according to nutrition numbers on the food*

I'm going to try to be more active with SP to help me and hopefully others reach this goal! Good luck and prayers for all of us!

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the team but not new to Sparkpeople... It has helped me lose weight before but I allowed myself to loose focus and gain it back. I have started my latest journey my way. I have created goals that are tangible with a due date. They are reasonable, attainable and support the lifestyle I lead.
I have a different mind set and instead of depending on someone else to motivate me, challenge me or control my weight loss I have taken on that role for myself. I was always under the impression that I needed to depend on others and other programs and this time I have learned that I need to depend on myself and my close circle of die hard supporters. I am down 28.7 lbs in 2 months I have reached 2 of my mini goals and I am feeling amazing about my accomplishments! I can't wait to be in ONE-derland!

Thanks
Mandamay1

Goals:
1. To be under 200 by Nov 31 2013 - almost there 1.4lbs to go!
2. Climb a rock wall by September 30 2013 -DONE!
3. Run 5k by Dec 31 2013 -DONE!!

Hi Everyone....

I am a slow but determinded looser. Two years ago I had lost 30 pds... did I say lost? Taken off and discarded actually, because I dont want them back! Since then I have been stuck, gaining and loosing the same 7 lbs. I have downfall weeks, and good weeks, and good spurts and then gains and I really try not to get frustrated. 2 weeks ago I started something different.... I am working out 6 days a week, strength and interval training, trying to drink more water, and really watching my portions, as well as trying to eat "clean". My scale will not be seen until my 4 week anniversary date. I am determined to break into onederland this year!!! I saw this group and couldnt resist!! Ohh.... small facts.... 52 from California :)

Change your mind... your body will follow !

Hi everyone. My weight loss journey has been a convoluted one. I'm sure some of you can identify with that. Surprisingly (to me at least) I have lost weight in stages, so far. My highest weight was around 282 lbs. I quit weighing myself when I saw that number so I'm not really certain what my highest was. I worked that down to the 260 lb range and stayed there for about 7 years, even going lower, but each time returning to the 260 range. Now I've worked down to the 225-230 range and have bounced around here since Thanksgiving. I really want to get out of the 200's this year. That's my #1 goal--to break 200 this year. I would love to go lower in to the 100's, but if I at least make that it will be a GREAT Woo-Hoo moment. I look forward to getting to know folks on the team and learning from you.

Hi everyone! I have been on Spark since the end of May, I started out well and then fell off but I have been going strong since the end of December and hope to break out of the 200's by my birthday in July.

I'm a former 100 pound loser that gained 85 back! This time I am looking to lose slow and steady and really develop new habits. If anyone wants a sparkbuddy to do email support feel free to contact! I know how great it is going to feel when I break 200 and then keep going. I've got about 13 pounds to go to 200!

Hi! I have been a serious Sparker for just over 2 weeks now and I am loving it! I have hit a few rough patches which is very common for me, however, instead of giving up like I usually do I jumped right back up and got back on track! I owe that to SP!!! I am a 29 year old teacher who adores my husband and baby girl! I have packed on 60+ pounds over the past 4 years and I am DETERMINED to stop feeling so bad about myself and getting back to being fit and healthy! I have a few short term goals to help along the way....one being to get below 200lbs which has been VERY hard for me! I decided this team was just the place I needed to be to help push me towards this goal! :)

I have about 95 lbs to lose to reach my goal but am working on 5 lbs at a time. It sounds like losing 5 lbs is a lot more manageable than saying I need to lose 95 lbs. I lose weight very slowly and I yo-yo a lot, but I really want this weight off.
I've tried a number of different plans but I think for me it's a matter of cutting calories but making the most of what calories I do allow myself. So I'm trying to eat more fresh produce and fruits, and limiting all the junk foods. I do eat meat but am working to cut out a good portion of that and limit it to mainly fish and chicken.
My exercise is sporatic at the best. I'll go days and not do much then for a week or two go crazy with activities that are considered exercise. I need to get more into a regular routine of daily exercise that I enjoy doing.

Good Morning all- My name is jaime and I have 9.2 pounds before I enter Onderland. I began my journey back in February and broke to Onderland and got off task and now I am back and doing very well. I have been going to the gym 4-5 days a week. I track everything I eat and drink. And will continue to do so.

Happy Sparking all.

One day at a time...

I am thankful everyday for the support system that I have.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Hello! I've been using SP for a couple weeks now, but just joined this team today.

I'm eventually looking to get down to about 185, I think, which is where I was for most of my adult life until untreated anxiety and depression about five years ago led to my binging on enormous amounts of carbs and wine. Antidepressants and therapy stopped the mental health issues and binging, but I'm really struggling to lose the weight. (I also suspect the medication doesn't help with weight loss, but it works so well for my mood disorders that I'm not going to change it!)

I had an initial assessment at the gym and the trainer there said that I should get down to about 200 and then reassess, to make sure I hadn't been losing muscle. So that's my current goal.

I've very much been enjoying getting back into physical activity, after a very slothful (for a variety of reasons) six months or so.

I am new to this team. My immediate goal is to get under 200, and I am having a real challenge with it. I seem to want to stay just above it. Not sure why... I haven't been under since high school. I am really trying hard to do a good exercise every day, and journal my foods and make wise choices. Hopefully this time I can allow myself to break that barrier!

Rejoined, new user name...

I'm a 56 year old woman that has about 60 or so pounds to lose but losing weight for me is extremely slow, so can use all the added support I can get. I'm just getting back into regular exercise after the all clear from breaking my wrist 6 weeks ago and having to get 3 plates and 8 screws in it. Still have to do the PT on it, but I can go full speed with what I need to do to get my weight down.

Nice to meet you :) And you are right, you have started and that counts for everything. Being constantly aware each day isn't easy, but it's key. Even if we have our bad days, and we will, we have to re focus immediately. Weigh weekly to be sure that even if the scale isn't going down, that it's not going up. If it's going up, we've got a problem. Concentrate on moving more and eating clean. Foods that are as close to their natural state as they can be are whats best for our bodies. :) Good luck! and if you need someone to talk too I'm around :)

Hi I first found SP sometime ago how ever I was more curious than anything. July I accepted the challenge to get active. and reach goal of a healthy lifestyle. No DIETING allowed. My current weight is 315.8lbs. I am .8 above my starting weight and I rhad reduced my weight to 314.5 after starting in July 2012.

Some may think that I am not off to a good start however, I beg to differ. The key is that I have started.

I live in Omaha NE, I have been married for 91/2 yrs and we have 2 adult sons and the most gorgeous grand-daughter, six yrs old.

I have been fat, overweight, to short for my weight all my life. I went through high school weighing in my 200 I first hit 300 in the mid 70's have gotten as low as 192lbs in the 1991. I refused to enter my 50's overweight. I changed my eating lifestyle and walked regularly until I got accustomed to the exercise then I walked every where and stopped driving(no car) and took public transportation.

Then life happened and here I am standing at the doorway of potential health issues which could become life threatening. I am the heaviest of my siblings.

I am in need of your encouragement and support and swift kick in the rear if I begin to wane on my program.

I have yet to select an eating and fitness program. I believe my fear of failure has me frozen. I am working in the sense that I am level 5 with 483 points left to reach level 6. I want to begin to do more than earn points and I know today should be the day and not tomorrow.

Hi! I too am sick of being in the 200's. I should be in the 180's by now according to the plan I had set but I've been stuck for months! Been bouncing between 206 and 212.
Well, I'm at 206 and if I'm going to bounce again it's going to be down!
I've got all the tools I need to make it happen, so I have no excuses! Here's to seeing onederland soon!

Hello! emoticon

I've been over 200 for over 10 years. My highest weight was 283 in January and I'm currently at 233. I've lost 50lbs, but it doesn't feel like that much as I've been stuck in the 240's and 230's for months. I'm really wanting to break the 200 barrier. Looking forward to being a member of the team. emoticon

I have been over 200 for a long time. i just kind of ignored it and pictured myself thinner. my highest weight was 245 and it scared me. and woke me up i changed some habits and lost 35 lbs that year. i then kept it off for 2 but started to gain it back last year. at the end of june i was back up to 224 and i decided i really needed to take control again. my eating was way out of control.

I'm re-joining SparkPeople in yet another effort. I didn't see this SparkTeam the first time!! I'm glad I found it today! First..when I want add a comment, do use the "Reply" buttom to do this - like I did this time? Even though I"m not really "replying" to a specific post? Like everyone else here, I'm here to get below the 200 mark!
More later...I'm re-establishing myself here in Spark Land!

I'm the heaviest I've ever been in my life and it's time I get back to a weight I know will be healthier for me. I'm working towards getting down to 185 lbs. I won't be thin but I'll be much healthier than I am now.

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, and I have a ways to go until I break 200 -- currently 77 more pounds. :) I lose slowly which tends to get me down and tired of trying. I'm determined not to quit this time. I've lost 9 pounds so far, slowly. My husband is the biggest source of motivation I have, always telling me to just keep going. It's what I need. Reminders not to give up when the going gets really tough.

Hello,
My name is Monica. I started back, once again, living a healthy life style. This time I believe I will succeed. Only because my way of thinking is a lot different. I use to look at it as a job. Something I had to do. Now I look at it as a source of peace, happiness and joy. It's now something I want along with just being a need. When it was a need then I looked at it as a job something I had to do. Now I want to do it and it's fun!! I now make small goals. Loosing 5% of my weight is my first goal with will be me breaking 200!!!

My name is Julie. I was on SP about four years ago, and decided I would check it out again. Somehow, I remembered my old screenname (arbonnejulie) and password, and I thought I would go back and reintroduce myself to all of my Spark Teams and such.

I'm 28 now, married, and have an 18 month old. I'm trying to get rid of the baby weight. I've already lost 45 pounds on my own, but I still have about 75 pounds before I get back to my pre-engagement weight of 140 pounds.

I hope this finds all of you well, and I look forward to being on more often. :)

Hi everyone :)

I'm Taylor. I joined this team last night because I'm just SICK of being in the 200's. I was thinking about how it's going to feel when I step on the scale & it says "199" & I honestly think I'm going to cry... lol I can't wait to be able to say "I'm in the 100's" again.

I've been in the 200's for... probably around two years now, maybe a little more, & I HATE IT. I gained soooo much weight after a really hard breakup I had & after 5 years of emotional/binge eating- I've decided it's time to get all this off of me.

I've got close to 40 lbs. to lose until I'm out of the 200's but I'm ready to rock it out & get it all off.

My name is Dawn. I am a 31 (soon to be 32) year old mother to two wonderful little boys. I recently divorced (September of last year). I have been through a lot of stress in the last few years and it has made me lazy (and makes me stress eat). I have flirted around with that 200s/100s line for about 4 1/2 years but have been in the 200s for about 2 years now. I weighed in today at 206. My 32nd birthday is on April 7th and I would like to get back to Onederland before then, I know its going to take some work but hope I can acheive this goal!

Hello all,

I'm Lisa and I live with my husband in Berks County, PA. I am struggling to get down below that 200 number. I found the group from a couple of other spark teams and I'm getting motivated to make it happen.

Thank you kindly for having me.

Hi!

Just got engaged and having Midnight in Paris French theme wedding Sun Aug 18, 2013.

Goals/Motivations:

1. Trying to get motivated to get off my ass and lose weight so I dont look like a cow in my dress or next to my skinny ass bridesmaids. lol So wake up at 630AM everyday and jump on treadmill, drink 8 cups water, & take my vitamin.

2. Plus be a good role model for my 4 yr old daughter. My mom was a very bad influence, so I have to get over that and be a healthy mom. My fiance helps. He's super active and helped me do my first 5K in 2010 (37min 40sec). Did not do so good this year (2011) but atleast I did it.

I was in the Navy as helicopter electrician for 4 yrs, so I know what to do (exercises, food, etc), just dont do it. I stay committed for a week and then something overwhelms or exhausts me in life and I get depressed and tired and stop everything. And takes me awhile to get going again.

So here I go again! :) Good luck to you all too!!

Week 1 - 1/3/12 - My goal is to lose 2-3lbs/week = 40lbs +-
