Good day,
Thank you I appreciate your input. Yes I have tried water exercise but my knee just swells up. I just cannot seem to win with this knee. I do allot of sit ups and try to do different low impact exercises where I have no weight on it. Occassionally it does not swell. But that is rare.
I am in the trial and error stages so I hope to figure this out?
Have a wonderful day..

Look out for chair exercises. Not always as feeble as one might imagine

Hi and emoticon I don't know if this will be helpful to you, but I'll tell you what works pretty well for me. First of all, I have to tell you that I have all kinds of back, hip, pinched nerve issues going on since a fall flat on my back in Aug. 2011 on a tile floor. I used to hike - the operative word being "use to" and now I can't do more than a walk or I hurt like the dickens. I've found water exercise to be a blessing because it is low impact and kind to the joints. I am very fortunate to have a couple of walking pools available to me so I can walk/jog and also use my aquatic weights for strength exercise in the pool. If you have a pool available, you might try walking in water up to about your waist or chest and invest in a set of aqua dumb bells ($25-30). Good luck and welcome to the team. emoticon

emoticon Hi and emoticon to the team. I am not familiar with your particular knee condition but I do know about knee pain and the need to choose safe exercises. Ask your doctor to recommend some safe exercises for you. As for the hormone issues, I took Remifemin from the health food store for about a year. Menopause went pretty smoothly for me although I still have night sweats from time to time.

Welcome. Sorry I don't know of exercises for chondromaiacia of the knee but you should check out the fitness site. It has a variety of exercises for everyone. When I went through menopause my doctor insisted I use HRT. I hated it. I had more trouble with HRT than with menopause. Eight months later the report that said it caused more problems than it solved came out and I stopped it. I never used anything else except cold compresses for hot frashes and didn't have any trouble to speak of. What problems are you having?

I'm looking forward to my new weight loss challenge while using this site & meeting new people with the same goal. I recently turned 50 and I feel like I am learning my body all over again. It's like going through puberty trying to understand your hormones and how they effect the body??

A few years back I lost 45 lbs. I recently put on about 15 pounds due to stress a very bad knee & hormones. Now I want to take that weight off plus an additional 25-30. I am finding it very hard due to my knee injury. There are very few exercises out there that I can do without hurting my knee or having it swell immediately after. If any one knows of exercises that can help "chondromalacia of the knee" I would love to hear them.
Plus I would love to hear of others that learned how to control their hormone issues while being introduced to menopause. I am a true believer of doing things naturally and do not believe in hormone therapy. Any other solutions are very welcome.
I look forward to meeting everyone and anyone.
Have a wonderful day.....:)
